As of Late

Well, it has been a while since I have posted anything of consequence, for a couple of reasons. 1. I had nothing to say. 2. I’m too lazy.  But, i am currently enjoying my one week of summer vacation before its back to school next week.  Confession: i am breaking a cardinal rule attending summer school, but we all have to hypocrites in one way or another.
I recently just finished up Spring semester at Weber State.  At the beginning of the semester all of my professors mentioned that their class would the hardest of the semester, I brushed it off as soon as it was said...little did i know that NONE of them were lying.  This was the worst semester ever! Everything that could have gone wrong, did. It was just awesome. But, i made it out a live... sort of.
I turned 20 yesterday.  That is one FAT number.  Not only is the overall agedness of it large but when you put  a "2" in front of a number as opposed to a skinny "1" it's a morbidly obese number. I had a great birthday. I finally joined the world of technology and got an iPod touch. (thank you parents).  I ate my weight in food at the Cheesecake Factory, and I went up to Logan to meet baby Teancum. (Phill's nephew), then over to visit Becca and baby Avery (Phill's sister-in-law and niece).  I had so much fun hanging out with my family for the first half and my second family the other half.
Just today I watched Steve Carell’s very last office as Michael Scott and I will admit, I cried.
Phill is doing great as always, he has almost been gone for 5 months, he is still in the middle of nowhere, and he is still loving it.  And I still miss him like the dickens (what does that even mean? I do not know, but it's true.)
Life is good.

All Dogs Go To Heaven

Sammy: We got Sammy our black lab when I was six years old.  She has always been the sweetest dog you'll ever meet!  Whenever you would feed her a treat she would edge up on it super slowly so that she wouldn't bite you.  She is so darling!  When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade (not sure) Sam had 11 black lab puppies!  It was amazing that with that many babies inside of her we didn't lose any of them!  Sam was such a good mommy and we all loved having the giant black ball of fur chasing us around all summer long!  She was the mellowest and sweetest dog, i loved it when i would read outside or lay on the grass and she would always lay right there with me and we'd have a grand old time.

Mesa:  We bought Mesa when my dad was at scout camp, needless to say he was not thrilled to find another puppy when he got home, but we all know he secretly loves her.  Mesa is a yellow lab, but we mostly just call her the dumb blonde of the family.  This dog is the goofiest, most airheaded, adorable dog you could have ever asked for!  No matter how old she got, she could easily be tricked into chasing after a "ball" that we would "throw" when really we didn't throw anything, she never out grew that.  Mesa would have been lost without Sammy! When we bought Mesa, Sammy was the cutest little mommy with her and they were always inseparable, we couldn’t even take one to the vet without the other! Mesa was such a fun addition to the family!

On April 9th we found Mesa laying down, breathing heavily, and groaning. This was really strange for Mesa, because she was 12 but acted like she was about 2 years old.  We knew she was probably going to die, last year we had some cancer taken off of her eye, and the vet told us it may spread to the rest of her body.  We stayed with her for a few hours giving her loves.  We decided we needed to have her put down instead of letting her suffer.  For months we had been debating about putting Sammy down, because she was so old, couldn't hear, walk, smell, or see very well.  But we were worried about how Mesa would handle being separated from Sam.  When Mesa was so sick we decided it would be best for them to go together.  My dad scooped Mesa up in his arms and by the time he got her in the truck she was gone.  We had Sammy follow us to the truck and we said, "come on Sammy it's time to go see Grandpa," (Sam loved my Grandpa, he would come and take her out to the fields to run and play and train her) when we told her this she took off running, it was the first time we had seen her run in months!!! Even though it was so hard to see them both go, we are all so glad they got to go to Heaven together! We love our puppies!
